Sometimes Brutal (2024)

I’ve been fascinated for decades by environmental art, awestruck by the incongruous juxtaposition of over-sized pieces installed in a seemingly random places. There’s poetry in these massive structures—sometimes brutal and jagged—resting in serene, peaceful, pastoral settings. I find hope and beauty in the idea that these unrelenting, unflinching steel behemoths are welcome by and resting quietly in the arms of mother earth. — S.I.

These pieces were exhibited as part of Sometimes Brutal, Amplification, and as a solo show.
